Zeke is a local Ithacan transplanted to Brooklyn via Israel. He came to me with a simple piano chord change, lyrics and vocal melody and together we worked up this amalgam of hip hop, reggae and traditional Jewish music. The success of this song and accompanying video led to him recording an EP with Matisyahu bassist and producer Stu Brooks.
Audio Production
I've enjoyed the opportunities I've had to work on other artist's projects as an Arranger, Producer and Engineer. Here's a few examples for your listening pleasure.
Zeke Finn
Papa Muse
Back when I was playing gtr in Way's band we began work on a full length by tracking drums at Pyramid. Then Way moved out of town and the project got put on hold for about 8 years. In 2015 we got back to work tracking the gtrs and vocals and doing the mixes and then sent if off to Jocko for the mastering. Lot's of fun stuff on this record in terms of sound manipulation with delays and synth processing.
Yacouba Diarra
Yacouba was referred to me by musician/engineer Nate Richardson when Yacouba needed to mix some tracks he recorded in Africa. We wound up recording a completely different record that focused on Yacouba's fantastic Ngoni playing. A mix of traditional arrangements with modern instrumentation added.
Beggar's Pocketbook
I met lead singer Josh Reyes on a trans continental Amtrak train ride. We kept in touch and I recorded two 3 song ep's for his band Beggars Pocketbook. Reminicent of Deftones and other Alt Metal 90's acts.
